XtremeTravelStories.com was made for you, a true world traveler: From the adventure junkie to the sly reporter, from the free-spirited, wandering backpacker to the vigilant tourist who just happened to be in the wrong place at the right time, and from the trigger happy photographer to the partier whose day begins at nightfall.

XTS specializes in travel stories that you won't find anywhere else on the web. Any language, any topic, as long as it constitutes as original, interesting, hilarious, or any of the other eight definitions listed above, it’s “Xtreme!”

Don’t have a story? Then go out and get one! Our Free-Lance report section allows you to interview a unique individual and touch on taboo subjects that other companies are frightened to publish. You can also let loose your inner-Plato and share your thoughts on philosophy, religion, culture or any other life changing experiences you had while on the road.

Work better with the camera than the pen? Perfect! Send us your photographs and video clips from a foreign land or region to prove for once and for all that seeing is believing. Lost your camera while traveling? No worries, so did we... That's why XTS allows you to upload your favorite YouTube videos right onto our video section.

Travel writing nowadays is locked on auto-pilot and heading down the same, boring course; focusing on bargain buffet deals, 5-star hotels and tours which force you to wear ridiculous, bright-colored hats. However, it doesn’t have to be like this. Submit with XTS today to show the world how we travel. As a bonus, our viewers will vote and choose their favorite stories and freelance pieces every six months. XTS will toss the winning author 100 bucks, no questions asked, no strings attached, so that he or she can continue their outrageous journeys across the globe. So, what are you waiting for? You got nothing to lose!!!

Competition Information:

The XtremeTravelStories.com writing competition is a skill-based contest where participants submit either a travel story or free-lance report in any language, topic or category the author desires. The finalists of each cash prize give-away are decided by you, the viewer. At the end of each deadline, our staff will multiply the number of votes by the average 5-star rating found under the story or free-lance report's tittle (5 stars is the highest while 0 is the lowest possible score). The points of this equation make a total score. (For example, if a particular story has 10 votes with an average 5-star score of 4, the author's total is, you guessed it, 40). The top five highest scored stories and/or reports will be reviewed by our team of professional editors to democratically decide which author deserves the $100 first place grand prize. If there is a tie amongst more than five stories and/or reports, then all will qualify as finalist. The winner will be announced no later than ten (20) days after the deadline and will be notified through e-mail first before being displayed publicly on XtremeTravelStories.com. The 100 USD will be awarded to participant through PayPal, therefore it is necessary for the winning author to have a PayPal account.

As mentioned, "Xtreme" is loosely defined by the author and can constitute an array of meanings. Basically, our editors are looking for creativity, originality and good writers with unique styles. Keep in mind, XTS is a site dedicated to travel stories and reports that you won't find anywhere else. So, remember this when submitting stories and/or free-lance reports because it'll only increase your chances getting published or, perhaps more importantly, 100 dollars richer.
