May 21 2011 (also known as the “May 21 Rapture”) is not Camping’s first doomsday prophecy. Camping stated in his book “1994” that the end of the world would take place on September 4 1994. His first prediction has obviously been proven false. Nonetheless, Camping wrote on his website that “The Bible has given us absolute proof that the year 2011 is the end of the world during the Day of Judgment.”
Camping is not the first to allegedly know the exact date of the end of the world. There have been numerous claims in the past and every single one has been proven invalid. Despite thousands of false prophecies, Christian fundamentals look to the Book of Revelation and point out that the end of the world is inevitable.
The Book of Revelation is the final book of the Holy Bible’s New Testament. It mainly speaks about Judgment Day- the time where God returns to the Earth and takes all Christians to Heaven and sends the rest of the world’s population to eternal Hell.
There will undoubtedly be some strange religious festivities during May 21 2011 across the United States. One must be careful when dealing with any form of religious extremism no matter which creed it may be. If you encounter one of these fanatic groups, remember to not consume any food or beverage... especially the Kool-Aid
