Acapulco

Acapulco (pop. 700,000) is an international tourist destination located in the southwestern state of Guerrero, Mexico. It boasts the largest beach in Mexico and is dotted with uncountable high rise hotel, condominiums and discos.

XTS Rating: 4.5- Acapulco is just like every other tourist city in Mexico. It’s packed with gringos taking shots of tequila, obnoxious night clubs and American chains. Like other places in Mexico, most of the local culture is lost leaving binge drinking for underage foreigners the most prevalent activity of the city.

Acapulco does indeed have some outstanding beaches and more native Mexicans (especially from the capital) prefer here than other beach cities. It’s hard not to have a good time in Acapulco, but if you’re looking for something less touristy, it’s definitely not the place for you.
