First of all, what is Occupy Wall Street? Many people struggle with this question since signs related to just about everything wrong with the US today (and that’s quite a long list) have been spotted. This has caused the opposition to announce that the protestors “lack a unified cause.” However, first and foremost Occupy Wall Street is against the businesses who’ve raped the American consumer. These large corporations have duped millions into buying worthless products/ideas with knowledge that they’re going to fail, have contributed zero to society and are being bailed out by Washington (aka us- the same people they’re ripping off) to fight and live another day to make billions more in profit.
The list of grievances doesn’t stop here, though. Other popular slogans are related to the treatment of ethnic minorities, gay/lesbian rights, stopping the war in Afghanistan and ending other imperialist acts, more investment in education, the creation of jobs and countless others.
As of now other movements are spreading across the US. Boston, Chicago, Cincinnati, Des Moines, Atlanta, Denver, San Diego, Washington DC, San Francisco, Los Angeles and others have all started protest similar (but often different in name with similar motives) to Occupy Wall Street.
We at XTS fully support those organizing and participating in the Occupy Wall Street movement and all the other similar protest across the United States. We encourage others to send their support by any means, shape or form and join a worthy cause.
