Riots Break Out in Venezuelan Prison
Trey Archer Published in Venezuela on Thursday, 23 June 2011 15:45Fighting between rival gang members at Venezuela’s El Rodeo II prison in Guatire (40km outside the capital Caracas) leaves 19 dead. Violence first broke out in the adjacent El Rodeo I on June 12th but ended five days later. However, an explosion of mayhem soon erupted in El Rodeo II, making it one of the deadliest prison riots in Venezuelan history.
